How do I deposit AUD to my OKX account?

You can deposit AUD from your bank account to your OKX account. AUD local bank transfers are currently only offered to our Australian customers. To start a transfer, log in to your bank and enter your unique OKX deposit details. You can pay with either:

  • PayID: an email-style address that's unique to you. You enter it in your bank's "Pay to PayID" option, so you don't need to copy a BSB and account number.

  • BSB and account number: a standard bank transfer to your unique OKX account details.

  • Card (Visa or Mastercard): an Australian issued credit or debit card.

All 3 methods credit the same OKX account, and you can use either one each time you deposit.

  4. Enter the amount and confirm the payment

Note

  • Deposits from other crypto exchange platforms and cross-border payment service providers (for example, Wise) aren't supported. Only local Australian banks are supported.

  • Processing times depend on your bank and transfer method. Most deposits arrive instantly. However, some banks may delay first-time or large deposits, and delays may be longer over weekends and public holidays. If your first deposit hasn't arrived after one business day, check your transaction history and confirm that the payment was successfully sent. If it's still missing, contact Support and provide your bank receipt.

  • Make sure the name on your OKX account matches the name on your bank account, so your deposit goes through smoothly. This applies to both PayID and BSB deposits. Deposits from third parties will be rejected.

  • We don't charge a fee for AUD bank transfer deposits, but your bank may charge its own transfer fees. To learn more about our fees and processing times, read more here.

FAQ

Why am I only able to select certain payment method types?

To comply with local laws and regulations, the payment methods available on your account are limited to those that are appropriate based on the identity verification documents you provided during onboarding to OKX.

Why am I encountering a "Cash deposit unavailable" message?

This means that fiat payment services aren't currently available in your region. You can refer to here for more details, and we'll keep you updated on any regional expansions.

Why do I need to verify my identity before making a deposit?

We ask you to verify your identity to follow local regulations, keep our platform secure, and help determine the best payment methods for your region.

PayID FAQ

What is PayID?

PayID is a simple identifier, such as an email address or phone number, that's linked to a bank account in Australia. Instead of entering a BSB and account number, you enter the PayID in your banking app. OKX gives you a unique, email-style PayID linked to your OKX account. Most Australian banks support PayID.

How do I get my PayID?

You don't need to sign up. If your account is eligible, we'll set up your PayID automatically the first time you open the AUD deposit page. Once it's ready, it appears on the deposit instructions screen next to your BSB and account number.

Why can't I see a PayID on my deposit page?

This can happen if:

  • Your PayID is still being set up. This usually takes a short time. Close the deposit page and check again later.

  • Your app is out of date. Update the OKX app to the latest version.

  • PayID isn't available for your account yet. You can still deposit with your BSB and account number.

If you still can't see your PayID after one business day, contact Support.

Can I choose or change my PayID?

No. Your PayID is generated for you and is unique to your OKX account. It stays the same each time you deposit, so you can save it as a payee in your banking app.

Why does my bank show a different name when I enter my PayID?

When you enter a PayID, your bank shows the name of the account it's linked to. For your OKX PayID, this will be an OKX Australia entity name rather than your own name. This is expected and your deposit will still be credited to your OKX account.

My bank won't let me transfer to OKX using a BSB and account number. What can I do?

Some banks restrict transfers made with a BSB and account number. If this happens, try depositing with your PayID instead.

My bank says my PayID can't be found. What should I do?

Copy the PayID directly from the OKX deposit page, rather than typing it, and paste it into your banking app. Make sure you've selected the email PayID option. If this is your first time paying using PayID, please allow a few minutes for your bank app to recognise the PayID. If your bank still can't find it, contact Support with a screenshot of the error.

Are PayID deposits faster, or do they have different fees or limits?

PayID deposits use the same real-time payment network as BSB transfers, so processing times, fees and limits are the same. Your bank may still hold first-time payments to a new payee for its own security checks.

Can I deposit from someone else's bank account using my PayID?

No. As with all AUD deposits, the name on the sending bank account must match the name on your OKX account. Deposits from third parties will be rejected.

Can I withdraw AUD to a PayID?

Not at the moment. PayID can only be used for deposits. AUD withdrawals can be made to your saved bank account.
